Educational & Child Psychologist

Sarah is a warm, empathic, enthusiastic and dedicated practitioner who very much enjoys applying psychology in holistic and creative ways to support children and young people. Sarah has particular interests in relational approaches and interventions to enhance communication within relationships. Sarah embodies a sense of hope and optimism, promoting the use of strengths based practice in order to support adults around the child or young person to feel empowered in order to bring about change.

Prior to working in private practice, Sarah worked in a neighbouring Local Authority for 4 years as a qualified educational psychologist, including an additional 3 years of experience working in three different Local Authorities whilst completing her doctoral training. Sarah has published research within the field of Educational Psychology and she has particular interests in the use of video to aid personal and professional development. Sarah also has experience of co-leading, managing and evaluating a large scale Public Health Project in a neighbouring Local Authority.

Sarah is an accredited Lead Practitioner Trainer with Emotion Coaching UK and has adopted this work as a ‘way of being’, embedding this work as part of her everyday practice. Sarah is also an accredited Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) guider with AVIGUK and she is trained in Theraplay (Level 1). She also has experience of supervising Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSA's) across different schools.

Professional Qualifications

Doctorate in Educational and Child Psychology(App Ed and Child Psy D), The University of Birmingham.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology, The University of Northampton

Previous Work Experience

Prior to training to be an Educational Psychologist, Sarah worked as an assistant Educational Psychologist for a busy city Educational Psychology Service. She also has experience working as a Primary School Teacher #
